Evan has over a decade of experience leading efforts to protect the environment and improve people's lives. Evan has worked for environmental NGOs, including the Florida and California Public Interest Research Groups, Environment California, and ForestEthics, as well as stakeholder engagement consultancies such as AmericaSpeaks, Concur, and the Consensus Building Institute. His early work on environmental campaigns consisted of organizing statewide and national coalitions, generating media attention, and mobilizing mass action in support of forest protection, clean energy policy, and other issues. His work in stakeholder engagement has consisted of designing processes for stakeholder engagement, conducting stakeholder interviews, facilitating meetings, and coaching clients on incorporating stakeholder engagement into larger change management efforts on issues such as disaster recovery, designing marine protected areas, and adapting to the risks of climate change. At MIT, Evan focused his coursework and research on energy and environmental policy, climate change adaptation, negotiation and mediation, regional planning, organizational change, and system dynamics..
